Meet 11 year old Author: Adanna Maureen


At eleven years old, Adanna Maureen becomes one of Africa’s youngest authors 

Her book, “Danny Maureen’s Tales” was launched at the Silicon Valley Int. School.

The 58-page book is a collection of short stories with profound wisdom for people of all ages



I managed to grab a quick word with Adanna, in a short interview



Firstly, can you tell us a bit about yourself?

My name is Adanna Maureen Ogbonna. I am 11 years and I attend Silicon Valley International



What is ‘Danny Maureen’s Tales’ about?

It’s a collection of 6 short stories on; Mischief, Insecurity, Impatience, Doing the wrong things for the right purposes, Over-pampering, and Greed



What inspired you to write this book?

My inspiration for this book came from my love to tell stories, inspire people and touch lives especially by making children happy with my writing,



How long did writing the book take?

Say, about 6 months

What challenges did you face in writing this book?

Honestly putting my thoughts together and bringing my ideas into reality was the most challenging periods in writing this book


How do you find the balance between school work with writing?

Writing this book did not interfere much with my school work since I usually write on weekends and the holidays

What’s your favourite book, and who’s your favourite author?

The Red Shoes by Peggy Oppong is my favourite book, and Peggy Oppong is my favourite author, *smiles*

Finally, what’s next for Adanna?

This is the first of many more books to come. I also hope to reach the world with my books.
