How to Send Airtime from MTN to MTN

Every now and then, you may need to transfer airtime to friends, your spouse or even elderly people who cannot recharge airtime by themselves.

With MTN, transferring airtime is easy and can be done anywhere at anytime.

This post will show you how to send airtime from one MTN number to another using two methods.

1. Me2U Service
2. myMTN Mobile App

Sending airtime via Me2U service

Me2U is a service that enables MTN users to send airtime to the other MTN users. Me2U does not work for other networks.

To use Me2U, you should have first registered for the service.

To register Dial *198#, the select 1 (Activate) . Input a 4-digit-passcode to register.

Now that you’re registered

1. Dial *198#
2. Select 2 (Transfer)
3. Enter the recipient’s number
4. Enter the amount you wish to send
5. Enter your PIN and confirm

Sending airtime via myMTN Mobile App

If you have the myMTN Mobile App, sending airtime to other numbers just got easier.

1. Open the myMTN App
2. Under Buy/Send, Select Airtime
3. Select Network
4. Select Others, and Input the recipients phone number
5. Enter the amount and choose your payment method (whether MoMo or Airtime)
6. Tap Continue
