Galaxy A05s: Okay budget smartphone?

Samsung announced its latest budget smartphone, the Galaxy A05s in September. The device which is currently available in some parts of Asia, is scheduled to launch in other markets shortly.

The Galaxy A05s is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor, making it a pretty decent contender in the under GHS 2K category. Also, it boasts a 50MP primary camera and a 5000mAh battery.

Specifications

Samsung’s new budget offering is equipped with a generous 6.7-inch PLS LCD, featuring a Full HD+ resolution and an impressive 90Hz refresh rate ensuring that users will enjoy a generally smooth visual experience.

When it comes to photos, the camera system on the Galaxy A05s is set to impress. It consists of a 50MP primary sensor, a 2MP depth camera, a 2MP macro shooter, and a 13MP selfie sensor. Additionally, the phone supports the recording of 1080p videos at 60fps.

Under the hood, the Galaxy A05s is powered by the Snapdragon 680 SoC to ensure smooth performance. The same chip was also used in the Galaxy A23 and Redmi Note 11.

Currently, the A05s is only available with 128GB of storage and 6GB of RAM, providing ample space for your files. Additionally, there’s also a microSD slot available if you need more storage.

The phone is also equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint reader for added security, as well as a USB Type-C 2.0 port for fast data transfer, a 3.5mm headphone port and a robust 5,000mAh battery to keep you connected throughout the day.

Price

While global pricing details are yet to be unveiled, the phone comes in three stylish colour options: black, light green, and light violet.

To get a sense of the expected pricing, we can look at the phone’s pricing in Asia where the Galaxy A05s is priced starting at $150. With this in mind, it’s reasonable to assume that the Galaxy smartphone will be competitively priced for the global market.
