New app Beeper is providing users with a way to access multiple messaging apps from within a single app. Beeper integrates messages/chats from WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, Twitter, Signal, and even iMessage in a central inbox on any device.
The app was developed by Eric Migicovsky primarily to make it easier to chat with people across different messaging platforms. You can sign up for Beeper via this form, after which you’ll get an invitation to join.
Beeper supports 15 apps – WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Twitter, Telegram, iMessage, Android SMS, Skype, Slack, Hangouts, Discord, Signal, Matrix and IRC. Beeper could potentially add new chat platforms in the future.
Is Beeper free?
Beeper is a paid subscription service with monthly fee of $10.
How does Beeper work?
Beeper (formerly NovaChat) is built on Matrix, which is an open-source, encrypted messaging protocol.
Basically, Matrix offers an API that allows developers to connect with other chat networks using a “bridge,” which relays the messages back and forth from one side to another.
Another app that integrates multiple chat platforms is Texts.com, it currently unifies chats from WhatsApp, Twitter, Telegram, Signal, and iMessage.
