How to Boost Phone Reception Anywhere in Ghana

In Ghana, network coverage is fairly good, however, some areas within the country experience low signal strength.
Fortunately, there are some simple tips you can use to boost phone reception in order to get the best signal available
In this blog post, we’ll explore seven ways to improve your phone reception in Ghana.
Restart your phone
One of the easiest and most effective ways to improve your cell phone reception is to simply restart your phone.
This can help reset your device’s connection to the network and solve basic poor reception issues.
It’s a simple step but it can make a big difference in your phone’s signal. It’s also a good idea to restart your phone periodically, especially if you’ve been experiencing persistent reception issues. By doing so, you can ensure that your phone is running smoothly and that any potential connectivity issues are addressed quickly.
Find a good signal spot
Sometimes, the issue with your cell phone reception is simply your physical location.
If you’re surrounded by tall buildings, mountains, or big trees, your phone’s signal may be weakened or blocked altogether.
The easiest way to improve your reception is to find a clear spot with little obstruction.
If you’re inside a building go outside if possible. If you’re in a crowded area with a lot of people using their phones, try to find a less crowded spot.
Some rural areas of the country have no nearby cell towers, so you may need to locate a more populated area to get a better signal.
Finding a clear spot may seem to require you to move a bit, but it’s worthwhile when you find the perfect spot.
Remove your phone case
Your phone uses antennae to transmit and receive data across different frequencies. These antennas may be blocked by your smartphone’s case.
A quick solution for this is to remove your case in order to get a better signal.
Toggle Airplane mode
Airplane mode disables wireless signals on your device including WiFi, cellular and Bluetooth connection.
Typically, airplane mode is turned on during a flight to prevent your phone from interfering with the plane’s signalling equipment.
This feature can be beneficial in improving your cell network since it ‘forces’ your phone to search for a new connection.
To enable this, swipe down on your device and turn on Airplane mode.
After switching to Airplane mode, wait a few seconds, and then turn it off. This will cause your phone to search for a new network and hopefully connect to a stronger signal.
Check your SIM card
Unless you use an e-SIM, removing your SIM card can improve your reception.
Once you remove your SIM, check to see if it is dirty or has any faults (like breakages or a change in shape)
If your SIM has collected dirty, simply clean it with a dry cloth and put it back in.
If it is damaged, contact your network carrier for a replacement.
Update your device
Another thing you can do to improve your cell phone reception in is to check for software updates.
Updates are released to fix any bugs or glitches on your device. Some of these bugs may include issues affecting your cell reception.
To check for updates on Android devices;
Go to your phone’s Settings > System > Software Update
For iOS, Settings > General > Software Update
If an update is available, make sure to download and install it.
Use a signal booster
The last option, if all the above steps do not work, is to consider a signal booster.
Signal boosters are devices that amplify cellular signals. They are designed to boost the signal strength of your mobile network, resulting in better voice and data quality.
As I’ve stated, you should cover all other bases before investing in a signal booster.
