The 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, brings together all of the technology industry worldwide to showcase some of the most cutting-edge tech. The 3-day event features presentations from home tech, automobiles, AR/VR and even ‘pleasure tech’.

ColdSnap makes ice cream in an instant

ColdSnap is a portable ice cream dispenser that can churn out different flavours of ice cream in a matter of minutes.

It works using cans called ‘pods’ which are inserted into the machines to, produce freshly made ice cream.

At the moment, the company is targeting the commercial market including bars and restaurants. However, this technology may eventually find its way into homes, promising a delightful treat for ice cream lovers.

Genesis WaterCube creates clean water from thin air

The Genesis Systems WaterCube is a device capable of creating several gallons of drinkable water directly from the air using condensation.

By pulling water from the humidity in the atmosphere this device could gain popularity in areas facing water shortages.

But at $20,000, I find the WaterCube better suited for industrial purposes.

Honda’s Motocompacto is a foldable, lightweight electric scooter you can drive around town.

With a max speed of 15 mph and 12 miles (about 19km) range, the scooter offers a sleek and convenient solution for short-distance travelling.

Parkie parks your car for you

Parkie from HL Mando, a Korean company acts as an autonomous valet that slides under your car and transports it.

This gadget can lift a car and maneuver it into tight spaces for effortless parking where a driver cannot park efficiently.

Parkie has potential applications in areas like malls, large office complexes and parking facilities.

Skyted Mask prevents eavesdropping

Ever been on public transport and can hear a passenger’s whole conversation over the phone, Syted’s masks seek to bring a stop to that invasion of privacy.

Skyted is a noise-absorbing mask that helps you keep your private conversations to yourself. By wearing the masks, your voice is reduced considerably to outside listeners while ensuring the person over the phone can hear you via its internal microphone.
