Foldables are about to get cheaper – Z Flip 6 FE
To purchase a foldable phone at launch, you need at least $999. The amount is slightly less for older foldable models if you want to buy them in the market.
This price is 2x more for a high-end midrange phone, which could last you at least three years of good use.
But why is that? Foldable phones have twice the screen size and appeal in this day and age. Also, the resources for creating them further add to their price.
However, while growing every year, its use is still far from that of typical phones.
According to rumoured images, there could be hope for a more affordable foldable phone.
Samsung is allegedly working on a Fan Edition (FE) version of their Z Flip and Z Fold series.
Rumour has it to feature an older Snapdragon chipset, though it could come with an Exynos chip.
It’s still too early to say if you should take this news seriously, so I suggest you take it with a pinch of salt.
If Samsung decides to announce a Z Flip/Fold FE, the upcoming July Unpacked event will be a good place to do so.
The event is expected to launch the Z Flip 6, Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Ring.
