Galaxy A56 launched; What’s new?

Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy A56, bringing notable upgrades over last year’s Galaxy A55.

While the core design remains familiar, the A56 introduces a refreshed camera layout, improved performance, and better charging speeds.

Design & Display

At first glance, the front of the Galaxy A56 doesn’t look much different from its predecessor. At the rear, it features a new pill-shaped triple-camera module inspired by the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Z Fold 6.

For the display, the A56 sports a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel, slightly larger than the A55’s 6.6-inch screen. It still features a 120Hz refresh rate but now boasts 1,200 nits peak brightness for better outdoor visibility.

Also, Samsung has maintained the under-display optical fingerprint scanner.

The phone is also IP67-rated, making it resistant to dust and water.

Performance

Under the hood, the Exynos 1580 chipset powers the Galaxy A56, promising 37% better efficiency compared to the A55’s Exynos 1480. It runs on Android 15 with One UI 7 and will receive six years of software updates.

Battery & Charging

Galaxy A56 features a 5000mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging.

Cameras

Samsung has made subtle but impactful camera changes. The rear setup features:

• 50MP main sensor (with OIS for steady shots)
• 12MP ultrawide camera for capturing more in a frame
• 5MP macro sensor for close-up shots

The front camera gets a boost to 12MP, with support for HDR and 4K video recording.
