Samsung Galaxy S11: Rumours, Specs, Price and More

Is the best version of the Galaxy S series going to hit the market? The expectations are pretty high and the talk of the town is will it beats S10’s reputation. Have a look at some interesting rumoured things about this new flagship phone.

As announced by Samsung, there will be an “Unpacked 2020” event set for February 11 in San Francisco. According to rumours, there is a strong possibility that they will launch Galaxy S11 also known as Galaxy S20 in it. Also, likely, the Galaxy Fold sequel will also accompany this phone.

The first look of this phone will be released on 11 February 2020 that is going to shape up the mobile experiences for the upcoming decade. When it comes to price, The Galaxy S11  could be the same as the S10 at $899 / £799 / AU$1,349 for its cheapest storage size, and all the way up to $1,149 / £999 / AU$1,699. (~ GHS 5100 – 6500+). According to 91Mobiles, the estimated price is 73990 INR (~ GHS 5900)

There’s always a chance Samsung could price the Galaxy S11 to be more expensive, depending on the cost of the tech inside the phone but we won’t know for certain until Samsung officially unveils the phone.

If we talk about the basic model, then the display will be anywhere between 6.63 & 6.7 inches in size. It is expected that the model will have less curve when compared with S10. On top of that, the bezels will also look a little bit smaller and the camera is going to have five lenses.

There is a chance of a 120Hz refresh rate that may result in smoother interaction in comparison to the S10 range. Besides that, it is widely expected that Galaxy S11 may have two screens as the manufacturer has a patented design with another screen on the backside. It will eliminate the need for a selfie camera as the photos can be framed with the main camera.

Hardware

The Samsung S11 is going to run either on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 or Exynos chipset. Apart from microSD support, there will be a huge RAM and a variety of storage options added on the phone.

Let’s wait for the best as everyone is waiting eagerly for Samsung Galaxy S11, (aka Galaxy S20!)

Camera

Samsung has announced new 48MP and 64MP camera sensors, so it’s possible Samsung will use one of them for the Galaxy S11.

However, Samsung might go even further, as it has also now announced a 108MP sensor, one which has been specifically rumoured for inclusion in the Galaxy S11. The source of this rumour adds that the Samsung Galaxy S11 will apparently also have a lens with 5x optical zoom.

Elsewhere, another leaker has also said that Samsung will probably use a 108MP camera in the Galaxy S11, but this will apparently be a new one, rather than the sensor Samsung has already announced. This is a rumour that’s now starting to gain some serious momentum.

With Samsung’s first 108MP sensor landing on a Xiaomi handset first, it would make sense for Samsung to make something totally new for the Galaxy S11.

One source suggests the 108MP sensor used will combine nine pixels into one, for 12MP shots that can take in a lot of light.

Battery

The Samsung Galaxy S11 may come with a 4,500mAh battery – that’s based on a photo shared by a certification website in Korea, so it seems legitimate, but you can never be totally certain. If this is true, the Galaxy S11 will have the same capacity as the Galaxy Note 10 Plus, which should compensate for the new tech we’re expecting to see in the device.

From another source, the Samsung Galaxy S11 Plus will use a 5,000mAh battery, which would be the biggest used in a Galaxy S device. Another source has since backed up that 5,000mAh claim. This rumour makes sense because it would be an expected step up between the S11 and S11 Plus, but we don’t know for sure.

There’s no word on a possible battery capacity for the Samsung Galaxy S11e or ‘lite’ phone.

An industry insider has suggested the reason the smartphones can use such big batteries is due to shrinking one part of the internals, a technique which the iPhone 12 could use too.

It also looks like Samsung is working on a battery health feature, which could tell you how worn out your S11’s battery is.

Will this be enough?

To tackle the competition, there is an outside chance that Samsung will add a 108-megapixel sensor and 8K video recording support in S11. As mentioned before, it will have five cameras on the rear side. There is also some news that the company is working on periscope like-camera that will support the 5X optical zoom.
