The average tweep is likely to come on Twitter for news, entertainment or something similar. However, other accounts use Twitter for professional reasons or as a business tool.
This is why Twitter has introduced the ‘Professional Profile’ option which gives professionals including businesses and content creators a distinct profile page.
I tried out this feature, and it looks very similar to Instagram’s business profile option.
You can display your profile category, for example – blogger, pharmacist, public figure etc. on your profile page.

You can also display your products, business details and a newsletter option on your profile.
You can always switch back to a personal account.

Setting up your Professional account on Twitter
To set up your professional account,
- On your Profile page, click Edit profile
- Click Switch to professional and Agree
- Select a category and click next
- Select an account type (Business or Creator)
Follow these steps to set up a professional account on Twitter
Conclusion
The professional account option joins a list of Twitter’s new products. Over the past year, Twitter has launched Spaces (an audio-only feature), retired Fleets (Twitter stories) and is working on Twitter Blue (a premium version of Twitter)
