Tecno launches first foldable ‘Phantom V Fold’
Tecno recently announced its entry into the foldable market with the launch of its first-ever foldable device – Phantom V Fold.
The Phantom V Fold was launched last month at the Mobile World Congress held in Spain.
The foldable phone combines the convenience of a smartphone with tablet-like capabilities.
Only a handful of smartphone manufacturers have come out with foldable devices.
Out of the lot, Samsung leads the charts in terms of foldable device adoption worldwide with 4 generations of folding smartphones.
Motorola, Huawei, Oppo, Honor, Xiaomi and Vivo have also released foldable devices.
Specifications
Tecno Phantom V Fold features a 6.42-inch LTPO AMOLED cover display which fills out to a larger 7.85-inch display when unfolded.
The phone is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 9000+ chipset which ensures smooth performance and responsiveness.
Tecno’s foldable phone runs on the latest Android 13 operating system featuring HiOS 13 Fold, providing users with all of the latest features from both Android and Tecno.
It also includes 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage.
The device features a 50MP main camera in addition to a 50MP telephoto and a 13MP ultrawide lens.
For video, users can shoot 4K at 30fps and 1080p at 60fps.
You can expect a 32MP cover selfie camera and a 16MP wide lens for selfies when the device is unfolded.
Battery life is anticipated to be well above average judging from the 5000mAh battery with support for 45W charging.
The rear of the device features a premium leathery feel available in two colours; White and Black.
The Phantom V Fold also sports a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Phantom V Fold is predicted to launch at a starting price of $999.
