Slim: Pros and Cons
For smartphone companies, there’s often a balancing act between making a phone thin and making it work well.
While thin phones look great, they can mean sacrifices in important areas.
One of the most significant trade-offs is battery capacity. The physical constraints caused by the build limits the available space for the battery.
As a result, thin phones feature batteries with lower battery ratings compared to their ‘bigger’ counterparts. This reduced capacity translates directly into shorter battery life, requiring more frequent charging.
Another area of concern is heat control. Since internal components are put into a smaller space and generate heat during use, effective cooling becomes more challenging.
Thin phones often struggle to dissipate heat efficiently, potentially leading to a reduction in performance.
However, advancements in thermal management, such as the use of vapor chambers and graphite sheets, are increasingly mitigating this issue, allowing manufacturers to maintain performance even in slimmer designs.
Pricing
The Pova Slim is expected to retail around GHS 4000 to GHS 5000.
