Well, not in India, TikTok along with the other banned Chinese apps are creating problems concerning unauthorized use of user data.
India’s Ministry of data Technology decided to ban these apps beacuse they are engaged in activities that could harm the “sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of India, security of state and public order.”
Chinese tech company ByteDance owns TikTok, the infamous app allows users to make short videos and lip-sync to voices or music.
The Indian government last May banned downloads of the app for 2 weeks, after a court ruled that the app could expose children to graphic content and sexual predators. This ruling was rveresed after an appeal by TikTok.
Other apps that were banned
In addition to TikTok India has also banned Chinese applications WeChat, Weibo, SHAREit, UC Browser and Likee.
