TikTok has been in the news for, well, not so good reasons and this doesn’t seem do go away anytime soon.

On Monday, the US House of Representatives voted to have TikTok banned from all Government-issued devices due to concerns that users’ personal information could fall onto the hands of Chinese authorities.

In the past month, TikTok took a serious blow when it got banned in India, losing one of its major user bases in the process. The US may be considering a full nationwide ban of the app as subtly stated by the US Secretary of State.

President Donald Trump added that the US is considering banning TikTok as punishment aimed at China for the Coronavirus outbreak.

If this goes through, it would be another huge blow for TikTok. The app has grown in popularity especially among teens and has over 2 billion downloads – as of April.

TikTok, in response to this, has employed the services of over 30 lobbyists, who are tasked with persuading the Trump administration that the company’s operations are not influenced by the Chinese government.
