Valve Corporation, an American video game company, has recently released a new handheld gaming device named Steam Deck.
Steam Deck is not just another portable gaming device. The new release runs on Linux operating system and is effectively a PC you can install Windows OS on.
This gives Steam Deck an edge, in that it supports thousands of games from Windows and SteamOS as well. A number of games that will work on the Steam Deck include Fortnite, PUBG, and Apex Legends.
Hardware and Software Specs
The gaming device has a 7-inch display which gives a comfortable viewing experience for most games. If you’re into gaming specs, then you’d be excited for the custom AMD GPU that will power the Steam Deck.
The Steam Deck has two thumbsticks and a pair of trackpads beneath the thumbsticks. It also has an ABXY buttons setup, a D-pad, and a 1280 x 800 touchscreen for 720p gaming.
The device also has a gyroscope for motion controls and two shoulder triggers on each side (L and R).
The Steam Deck supports Bluetooth devices (headphones) as well as a headphone jack and built-in microphones.
The Steam Deck will be going for $399 (about GHS3000) but shipments will only begin in December.
